He put the writing on the wall first up at Wangaratta, running a brave 2nd, albeit in BM58 grade. The track conditions didn’t suit that day and he lugged a heavy weight, to run a nice 2nd to the local favourite of the race. We then traveled to Sale on the 9th of July very confident of a result, despite the drift in betting.

A very well executed ride by Brian Higgins saw “Eric” avoid all the chaos in the straight, and sneak up on the rail to post an easy victory. It was a well thought out plan, as after a walk of the track, it was decided that hard up on the rail was the place to be by the last race of the day. He probably hit the front a little earlier than what we would have liked, but with the wayward horses in the straight, he didn’t have any choice. He certainly isn’t a horse you want to be in front for too long on.

A massive congratulations to the owners, who has enjoyed a wonderful ride with this horse. He’s now had 25 starts for 4-5-1 and $152,000 in prize money. We are so excited to have his full brother in the stable. Jump on our “Horses Available” page for more information on him.
